UC Overpayments advice

Good afternoon everyone I hope you are all staying well I'm just looking for some advice regarding UC Overpayments
In October 2024 we Migrated over to UC from legacy benefits and in February they for some reason overpaid us buy just over £500 for not taking my partners Contributions based ESA into account which is paid weekly ( never been a problem previously )
Its never been a issue before and always deducted on our UC Statements but because off the overpayment they are now taking £85 a month to pay the overpayment back
April's statement has again just been produced and yet again another overpayment again found by myself but this time for £123 for not enough deductions taken from my carers allowance. Again my carers allowance is always paid separately and weekly but its never been a issue previously and always taken off on my UC statements
I have again written into my journal and had a response back to say I'm correct its a overpayment etc but I also asked how I can stop these overpayments in the future as its becoming a regular thing
This question was completely ignored in the response that I I received back instead just receiving a UCD367 letter about the overpayment
I totally understand all overpayments have to be paid back even if not at fault but we have no income just the same benefits so nothing changes on a monthly basis so I don't understand why they are allowed to keep making these mistakes
We are already paying £68.46 on a advance loan and £85.94 on the other overpayment from February its madness
I just want them to stop the overpayments in future so any advice is welcome thank you :)

That sounds like a very stressful situation there @wenglish1984 I'm sorry they haven't replied to you regarding this. Have you thought about raising an official complaint at all? I feel this would certainly warrant one.

Thank you @Albus_scope I really appreciate the response. Yes it’s very stressful. I wasn’t aware of the complaints process but looking online it’s very straightforward and I’ve completed the online form so thank you for the suggestion 👍 Nothing will probably come of it but it feels better that I’ve made them aware of the issues it’s causing us best regards

You need to contact debt management and ask them to reduce the monthly repayments to a reasonable amount. UC work coaches aren't trained and are often useless. Sorry you're in this situation.
