Hi, my name is DarrenJones71!

I am a disabled guy who is a survivor of a very aggressive version of Guillion Barre Syndrome. I live independently with the assistance of a carer and I drive an adapted vehicle through Motability. I am obviously very concerned about the cost of living as well as the plans to change PIP payments etc. I am lucky in the sense that my award was only given last year and is not due for renewal until 2030. But the future of PIP still scares me. They seem to targeting the most vulnerable.

Hi @DarrenJones71, welcome to the community. You're definitely not alone in how you're feeling about the proposed changes. Many are worried about it and I hope it helps to be part of a community who understand how that feels.
We have a discussion about the green paper over here in case you'd like to join in. But feel free to take a look around the community and get involved wherever you'd like to. If you have any questions about anything please just ask away ☺️

Daz, they ARE targeting the most vulnerable! The political establishment as a whole love to punch down. Never upwards. By that you can tell where the money and decisions come from.

I totally agree, maybe if they stopped wasting all this money on immigration and putting them in hotels at over £8 million a day we would be better off as a country. Why constantly target the worse off when statistically a disabled person needs more money than a non disabled person. It just really annoys me.

I think it might also help if the very wealthiest paid their fair share of taxes too. Yes, we as long term ill and disabled need more help in every way.

Oh yeah I agree, the wealthy just get more wealthy and the poor always end up worse off. What's your thoughts on "Reform UK" looks like they are going to take a few seats in the local.elections.
