    Hi,

The Cost of Living payments can be deducted as long as your total savings haven't dropped below that amount (£1850) since you got the COL payments.

Benefits backpay is deducted for 12 months as well as you say. It sounds like that 12 months has ended now though?

If you never had more than £6000 in total then there was never any need to declare the backpay and you won't be in any trouble now.

They won't ask where your savings came from.

My savings as of today is 3200 so would that be OK I have 100 in my normal account at the moment but might go down due to maybe buying more art stuff this week , I'm not due to be paid till the 7th may which would be 727 am I still OK with that and my savings is still unglder 6k this is so stressful obviously my pip backpay and lwrca backpay stop been disregarded in January 2023 and I stopped receiving pip roughly Jan 2024 which was under 100 per month it's so confusing I know they only want 4 months but there going to ask why I haven't declared 3k in savings I thought it was honestly 6k I got this so wrong I'm so stupid now I'm worried I've heard lots of horror story's it's scary x

Yes, £3200 is absolutely fine, there won't be any deductions unless you go over £6000.

Your payments are counted as income (not savings) until the end of the next payment period, so that £727 won't be included in the savings yet. As you are still well below £6000, you really don't need to calculate the income in this case anyway.

You haven't got it wrong and you're not stupid. As long as your savings have never been over £6000 then there was never any need to declare them. 🙂
