edited April 30 in Universal Credit (UC)

so I have been reading lots of forurms regarding lcwra, I haven’t been awarded yet I had my wca last Tuesday.
First of all I am a little concerned as my assessment took 15 minutes and asked hardly any questions at all. And didn’t give me a time frame on when I would hear back or anything so I am not very hopeful however ….

I handed my first fit note in November 2024 this fit note was backdated to July.

Say I was awarded lcwra would the 3 assessment period start from July or November?
So confusing

Thank you in advance

If Fit Notes were provided continuously, no gaps, none that were backdated etc (it's the date they are given to UC that counts not the start date written on them), then the waiting period starts from the date of the first Fit Note, which for you was July.

The waiting period is three full assessment periods.

A short assessment isn't automatically a bad thing, if an assessor feels you may meet a LCWRA descriptor they will focus on that and then stop. To get awarded LCWRA you only need to meet one descriptor, so it would be a waste of time carrying on after that.

thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

So I added the fit note to my journal in November, however it was backdated to July. So from what I understand from your comment November would be the start of the assessment period?

Sorry I’m new to this and it’s all a lot to take 😂

so the fact it was quick may well be in my favour essentially without jinxing myself lol.
    thank you for replying

I think they would start the waiting period from November yes.
