Hi all,

I've recently launched a petition to attempt to reverse the UC and PIP changes. I have attached the link below. I would urge as many people as possible to sign. Please if you can take the time to sign the petition and share it on social media. We need 100,000 signatures so please help the outreach in any way you can. Please comment on this post to get more traction etc.

Thank you!

Signed and shared. Perhaps we can/could take class action against this government and/or these vile and unfair attacks on the poorest and disabled? It's not a political decision for me it's personal. These policies will affect me. I see no reason not to fight back and resist this and other injustices.

I work in law and group litigation orders are incredibly expensive and difficult to win. You also need to show actual harm done by the government so it is likely you would be unable to do so until after the changes are made :(

But would there be a good cases after law change and how many years would it take ?

Unfortunately the answer I can give in true legal fashion is it depends. Group litigation orders take years and it really does just depend on the situation unfortunately, determining a good case is something I wouldn't be able to know as how the labour government acts and implements these things could change from day to day let alone in a year.

    Great effort @allanawilliams-signed and shared!

Unfortunately, I’ve seen firsthand how the Parliamentary Petitions Committee can sometimes reject petitions claiming there are “similar” ones already live — even when the content and context are clearly unique. It feels at times as though there isn’t enough patience to actually engage with what’s being asked, or perhaps there’s concern that certain petitions-if allowed through -could gain serious traction and lead to parliamentary debate.

That’s why it’s all the more encouraging to see your petition approved and published . It’s for an excellent and urgent cause, and I truly hope it gets the attention it deserves. We stand in solidarity with you and will help share it far and wide.

Many people are rightly eager to support any petition opposing these unjust Green Paper proposals. I’d encourage you to post your petition link in the main Green Paper discussion threads and anywhere else it might gain visibility.

Best wishes and thank you again for your dedication!
