Hello everyone I'm a new user looking for advice, last year I was given the motability part for pip, I have lived in this bungalow 5yrs, my last living at the family home 50yrs before my father passed away, I was his carer, when I moved into this one bed bungalow it is in a small cul-de-sac, the radius of the cul-de-sac is about the length of a sixteen seater minibus there is one makeshift driveway opposite and our properties (the two bungalows) share a large joint front garden that is open with no gates or fences, so obviously people who drive into the cul-de-sac use our front gardens as a turning point, I have to mention that I have bi lateral osteoarthritis in both knees severe mobility issues as well as depression I have had a assessment by occupational therapy and meet the criteria for a hard standing to the front of my property and funding for disability adaptations, to cut a long story short after agreeing to the proposal and providing a schedule of works that should've started in February, the council have backed out in the basis of cost these bing above the allowed amount of £30.000.00p, after recieving 2 responses for tenders from 2 authorised company's then it will cost too much the quotes for a concrete hard standing measuring 60m2 have come back at between £41.000.00p to £49.189.00p, you better believe it 49 thousand pounds for a driveway of 60m2 I have been through both stages of the complaints procedure including contact with the chief executive and not only have emails and letters from different people agreeing to these amounts, yep 49 grand, it's either lgo or social services ombudsman, help help help

I would recommend speaking to a local advice agency, who can help you decide how to now take things further complaint wise.
