Hi, my name is Perry_Stalsis! Looking for a mobility scooter...

Hello
6th week in hospital having radiotherapy for cancer. Hoping to be back home late next week.
My mobility is quite ìmpaired so I will be looking for a mobility scooter. My ability to drive isn't affected, just can't walk far. I have a dog, currently being walked by my wife and other family members. I'd love to accompany him on walks again.

Welcome to the forum @Perry_Stalsis! I hope the radiotherapy is going ok? I'm sure some of our lovely members will be able to help provide some advice. When you're feeling up to it, if you have a local mobility scooter shop, it might be a good idea to pop in to get a feel for them in person.
I hope you don't mind but I've added a little to your title and some tags to your post to help members see it. ☺️

@Perry_Stalsis I hope you are getting through your radiotherapy as smooth as it can be!
RE - Mobility scooter, It really depends on how much you want to spend and how far you intend to travel.
I have only ever bought second hand scooters, and the main thing I realized is the batteries and the cost of replacing them.
They are relatively reasonable to service, but if you do go down this second hand route you can get the batteries checked before you buy.
I'm no expert, but I have done a little research and a couple of things on the legal side you need a mirror on each side the anti tip wheels/bars on the back to stop you tipping backwards on a bank.
If you go for an 8 mph one, you can get the road tax free from D.L.A. If the scooter is registered.
Most of this information is available online and much more, I am sure a little bit of time searching will give you the peace of mind to go ahead and buy one.
I hope this has helped in a little way, and I hope you get what you are looking for.
Regards - Tom.
