WCA Government's 2 May 2025 Update on Welfare Reforms Released

I’m posting this separately from the New Green Paper thread because I know not everyone is following that discussion. This is the latest update released on 02 May 2025, and I thought some members who aren't following that thread might still want to review it.

So it is confusing , it says there will need to be 4 points in one activity .and then it says that if someone requires help from aids and someone else they still get Pip

Thanks so much @MW123 for posting this here/new thread (I will stay on focus!!).
I have read through it this morning and will come back with comments, relating to Measures 1, possibly 4, and 6, in particular. I'll try my best to do it today.
I'll mention an initial thought now, briefly. Measure 1 (PIP). It acknowledges the 'descriptor 4 points' for claimants who cannot do the activity at all. Those with lower functional needs will not get 4 points. This will include claimants not being able to have any carer support (and the effect on claimants receiving Carers Allowance) and many other areas of support which PIP is used for (I would not go to any medical appts for instance as I have to go by cab). THIS I'll be including in my response to the Consultation so I'm delaying sending that and my other letters until later this week or next week.
There are a few points that come to mind. I have to copy and paste it to Word, print it out and go through it that way.
Just going back to Carer's Allowance, my understanding is that it has only just recently been increased, denying PIP to some claimants will obviously have other implications, as well as the most serious one that claimants' care may stop.
Anyway, very many thanks again for posting it here. I'm on it today!

What does 'once the capacity to deliver more assessments is in place, we will take Award Reviews off the head of work in age order, oldest first.' ? Measure 7

I take it to mean, once they have more assessors in place they will get those cases that have been waiting the longest sorted first. That sentence is so poorly worded, typical of everything DWP 🙄

Yes . . . I keep looking for nasty hidden meanings in every thing they are coming out with 😄

Judie. me too haha. There always seems to be some kind of hidden agenda or double meanings 😁I thought it was all about communicating in ''Plain English'' these days but alas, there is no such thing when it comes from DWP or indeed the Government 🤣
