Email or text message on Universal Credit

Hi everyone, and good morning.
Just a, quick question.
When setting up a UC account, it asks if you prefer email or text messages for communication and for receiving codes for logging in.
Which, if any do people find is best? Is one more reliable than the other for example?
Thanks.

Email is best for me as I dont have a mobile, but I probably would still go for email even if I did have a mobile as I think Im more likely to change a mobile number than an email address.

I've had the same mobile number for over 20 years!
I don't remember this choice when I started my UC claim though. I get notifications through email. But the login code always comes via text. I would prefer both to come through email personally.

Why is that, if you don’t mind me asking? Do texts sometimes fail?
I am leaning towards emails myself tbh, as, obviously they're more accessible and not only from a mobile phone.
I'm just gauging opinion really because my indecisiveness is a bit nuts at the mo! haha

The texts have never failed so far. It's just my own personal preference as I don't keep a mobile phone on me at home. I always access the journal through a laptop, so it's awkward having to go and get my phone every time I want to log in.

Thanks, so much for your input. It's appreciated.
Although it probably doesn't matter either way, I believe email's will be best for me.
Thanks for helping me to beat my indecisiveness and make up my mind! 👍
