Flip flopping over UC claim

Tearing my hair out over my ex... basically in court my barrister and solicitor both said he's obsessed with making sure he gets benefits for our children. It didn't work out that way as I secured the agreement and and was able to claim child benefit for one of our two children for the first time since we separated years ago. He has since been changing their address everywhere to his own... even though he lives 30 miles away from us, their GP and school. I didn't really pay much attention to his behaviour because I'm trying to pick my battles.

Anyway - it's come to my attention that he is still claiming UC for both our children. I was in the process of claiming UC before I get the migration letter and relying on SDP transitional protection with child element, as that would be more than the protection for moving over with the migration letter. I am in and out of hospital at the moment and just not well enough to go around changing the addresses back, getting permission from the court to share court orders etc. He knows this and relies on it and it's not worth just over £100 a month to me to run myself into the ground over it. I'm going to wait for my letter so I know what I get now is protected.

I want to back out of the claim I started. Is this possible?

I've made my UC account. I got to the point where it says "start claim" and agreed that I can be prosecuted for false info etc. I filled in half the info on the checklist before I got to the childre part and realised it didn't ask me to only include children I get child benefit for. I vaguely remembered years ago I claimed working tax credits for nursery fees even though ex was getting child benefit and I realised that's why he's been doing all the odd address stuff. Quickly dawned on me i am not going to be able to claim the child element at the start of my claim as at best its delayed, at worst it's contested. Either way it messes things up for me.

Have I already gone past the point of no return with what I've filled in? If I just leave the checklist without completing the rest of the required info, presumably it will just cancel off? Any advice appreciated.
