Creating Awareness

hey ya,
I’m fairly new to all of this and have CP myself but desperately wanting to advocate and already more awareness etc. does anyone know of any events or anything going on- I’m based in the midlands but willing to travel.

I think I want to educate and spread the message of hope, I know that CP for sure has its scary and sometimes what seems like hopeless moments but I want to show people the light and hope in it all. Im slowly building a platform through beauty pageants to show that different is beautiful and that my disability doesn’t define me, but also educating people through beauty pageants etc.

just wanting to make a difference and slightly stumped on where to go next with it-any advice or suggestions or anything is appreciated

Heya @emilieebelle and a warm welcome to the community.

It sounds like you've got a lot planned and it sounds very exciting and worthwhile. 😊 I'd speak to the very excellent @Richard_Scope and team, they'll definitely be able to point you in the right direction.

    Hi emilieebelle,

    Welcome to the community ☺️

My name is Lucy and I am a Cerebral Palsy Specialist at Scope.

Have you tried your local Disabled Peoples Organisation? They may be worth getting in contact with.

We also have a Cerebral Palsy Network - which you can join. Being part of our CP Network gives you access to a variety of resources, support and community discussions.

    Best wishes,

    Lucy
