@Andi66
It will all subject to a vote in the House of Commons, it will need this to pass in the house I'd be very surprised if it gets voted down, as we know there will to many MP's voting for it.If it gets voted down it will be a big bonus and won't happen, but it's unlikely that will happen and these plans will go ahead.. Starmer, Kendal, Timms are saying they want to go further and faster?

You say - Starmer, Kendal, Timms are saying they want to go further and faster? In what way? People I talk to think the same. Thanks.

I can't go into to much regarding further cuts. Timms Pressed on whether there's any chance of a u-turn, the minister said: "We're bringing forward the proposals. And I expect them to reach the House of Commons in the next couple of months. And I'm very confident that we will get the support there to make the changes that are needed."
Asked if disabled people should expect further benefits cuts, he said: "There's lots of discussions going on at the moment. I am very focused on the package that we set out in March."

They had urgent questions for work and pensions in Parliament last Mon (12th). It was Kendall (I think) who said they won't bring in the new PIP assessment until November, and then it'll only be applied when your PIP is due for reassessment. New PIP claimants of course will have to use the new PIP assessment immediately, if they claim from Nov onwards.
Timms said they are keen to "involve" feedback from everyone to make PIP "fairer" - take that with a big pinch of salt but if we make a big input now, we've grounds to protest if / when they don't follow our recommendations.
I don't think we need to worry about PIP changes coming in before November, although Timms did qualify his response when MPs questioned them about how many disabled would actually get jobs when their PIP has been cut. They also dodged questions about whether the changes could be fully debated in Parliament (the excuse was "we cannot wait"). In other words, they're trying to rush it through Parliament before the bad affects become apparent.
If you'd like to read their answers, here's the complete transcript for Mon:

Thanks.
I don't trust them at all. Reeves needs more funding for her plans and she has been warned not to increase tax on working people, so benefits is the only place she can go for her extra funding... Financial guy told me this...

Originally they said November 2026 not this year.
"From November 2026, claimants will need to score at least 4 points from a single daily living activity to qualify for the daily living component of PIP, as well as scoring a total of at least 8 points".

Don't remember them saying that in the latest debate tifo, instead they said something about waiting for a report to come in this Nov + that will allow them to go ahead immediately.
But just checked what they've said previously and you're right:
I suspect Timms & Co are trying to rush these cuts through before it gets a chance to be voted down in Parliament. They say the closing date for "consultations" is 30th June, they are giving people long to respond…

I'm waiting for my PIP re-assessment right now , they have had my completed form with proof of my conditions and OT report since 25th April, who knows how long it will take but I have to just be patient .
