I'm surprised about the Speccy, Rachel, i have the Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2 from 1986.
Alot of 50 something games developers first learned to code on the humble Spectrum.

I first saw one in about 1982-3, my pal's dad used the 48K model ( The one with the rubber keys) as a business computer at home.
My favourite early game is Manic Miner.

I always loved Desert Island Dizzy. ๐

There are just so many to mention. Auf Wiedersehen Monty, Target Renegade, Double Dragon, California Games, The Great Escape, Head Over Heels.

Oh you are naming some absolute classics there @Chris75_ Double Dragon took up a lot of my time in the old arcades. Along with the Aliens game, that was great.

It was hard to see the screen clearly, playing Double Dragon in the arcade. I had to be cool and have a cigarette in my mouth as I played.

I was too young to smoke at that point @Chris75_ but I was old enough to beat the game whilst chewing on fairground doughnuts. ๐

You don't really see that now, 12-13 yo smoking. We thought it was the be all and end all, and used to spend our dinner money on cigarettes.
I may have mentioned it before but the shop keeper who sold us drink and cigarettes, he was none other than actor Brian Cox's older brother.

I remember the Sinclair Spectrum, the Amstrad console with tapes, and the Acorn Electron.
The first Atari was a real-life save as I had to do three months in isolation in the hospital and my mum could only spend some days with me. I met a nurse back then who introduced me to a game called DigDug. She would come back after her shifts and continue trying to beat each other's scores. I'm still friends with her today and have fond memories of the blisters on our thumbs from the non-stop gaming!
These days I was lucky to be gifted a PS5 for my birthday and still have my PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4. Just can't get rid of them as I've spent a lot of time playing them after many operations.
I mainly play GT7 on PS5 and have found a UK-based racing club who are so friendly and makes everyone welcome even if your skill level isn't great.
I have also been searching for hand control adaptations for a sim wheel and I have found a community on Discord of disabled sim racers all with adapted wheels or ideas on how to help each other find a solution to race as I can't use pedals for a long race session.
I have the details of both clubs but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post them on here.

I still need to go back and finish the FF7 remake games @RachaelC, I started playing the newer one a few months back, but ended up just running around with Red VIII slapping things. I love that lil guy. ๐
Clair Obscur is giving me strong FF vibes, but the storyline is a proper tear-jerker.0
