LWCRA and SSP verses work

Hi,
I have been off having Ops since February 11th and due to my situation was awarded LWCRA. I’m expecting these extra payments from June. I currently also get Universal credit and SSP ( now 12weeks). I’m looking into a gradual return to work and my thoughts are that as soon as I return in any form my SSP will cease.
Firstly when not working will my SSP continue or does the LWCRA replace it ?
Secondly am I correct in saying that if I were to return for 10 hrs per week at £13 ph this would substitute my SSP but would still receive UC and LWCRA until able to return full time. I do not claim any housing costs.
Thanks

hi @Luckyme and a warm welcome to the community!

If you're not working, SSP will continue for up to 28 weeks and its not replaced by LCWRA because they can be paid at the same time. Once you start working again SSP will stop. If you return to work for 10 hours for £13 a hour you can still receive Universal Credit and the LCWRA element as your earning below the threshold so your Universal Credit would not be reduced🙂

The Work Allowance would be £684 in your circumstances, this is the amount you can earn before the standard UC deduction is made (£0.55 for every £1 earned).
