Universal credit

I'm so confused regarding moving from ESA to Universal credit, had a appointment at job centre which went well, does anyone know will my money that I had from ESA be the same once I transfer to UC? Also regarding my housing benefit one person is telling me one thing the next another, does UC pay me for the rent then I pay my landlord? Hope all this makes sense, Thanks

If you received the Severe Disability Premium with your ESA you will have Transitional Protection added to your UC award, so you aren't worse off at the time of transfer. This does erode over time as other elements go up or new elements are added.
If you didn't get SDP then you will probably be better off on UC, so no Transitional Protection.
Yes UC pays you Housing Element for your rent, which you then pay to landlord.
If you wish UC to pay your landlord directly you need to request this. This can be done at any time (England) or after your first payment (Scotland).
Write a Journal note using the payment option.

Hi,
We need a bit more information to answer that. Were you in the Support Group? And did you get SDP with your ESA or not? Some people will be better off on UC. Others will get the same.
With regards to rent - that will now be paid along with your UC in one single payment. Then you pay the rent to the landlord from your own bank account. If you would like UC to pay your landlord directly, you can ask them to do that instead via your UC journal.

Thank you. In that case you should get Transitional Protection added to your UC. That will take your total UC payment up to exactly the same per month as your old ESA was.
