Need help bank details updated for UC
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice or reassurance.
I’m on Universal Credit and in the LCWRA group. I recently updated my bank details in my online UC account. Now they’ve messaged me saying I need to verify the new bank details, but they’ve asked me to come into the Jobcentre or do a phone call which I can’t do because I’m deaf and have severe back pain.
I told them I can do a video call, and they said they’ll email the Jobcentre. But I’m now really panicking — what if they stop my LCWRA because I can’t do this in person? I’ve had LCWRA for a while and nothing has changed with my health.
Has anyone else been through this before? I feel overwhelmed and not sure what to expect.
Thanks for reading.

Hi @bubblecake263, I don't think they would stop your benefits completely because you weren't able to attend or needed an adjustment to the way you're communicating with them. Hopefully the video call will be suitable for them or they can find a different way to confirm your details and get things sorted.
Do you still have access to the account that they are usually paid into or is the new account all you have now?
Fingers crossed it all works out okay ☺️

@Rosie_Scope thanks for the reply, it’s been sorted I explained the whole situation and on journal I got responded that I don’t need to book appointment or come in as the new bank detail has been verified, so I’m so glad I just feel so drained today from panic and anxiety this morning.
