New State Pension

Hi, many thanks in anticipation of any advice received.
My wife is eligible to claim her new state pension from next March. On looking on-line at the application form I was somewhat troubled by some of the questions. Even if you have never lived or worked abroad it looks as though it requires you to confirm every home address (start and end dates) and employer details including payroll numbers. We have moved around a bit and Im not sure we can accurately provide this information. As for employer payroll I don't have a clue.
Any advice much appreciated as to how we answer these questions greatly appreciated. Thank you

P.S. Sorry if I have given this question an incorrect category

Hi @CanfordCliffs1 yes, I've had a little look at the form and it does look to request that detail for every place you've lived outside of the UK. It sounds like a bit of a nightmare for you if you've moved around quite a bit. Is there any way you're able to trace back and gain that information? Alternatively, you could try calling them to explain the situation. I'm sure they've had others in similar situations, but I think they will need this unfortunately.

HI Holly. Thanks for answering. Appreciated.
It's not the living outside of the UK issue (because we have never lived and worked outside of the UK), its the fact that the form I saw asked for this information IN the UK. They wanted all the UK addresses and employment details.

Hi @CanfordCliffs1 - & welcome to the community. The only form I could see just mentioned any time abroad as Holly has said. Then if you'd been employed in the past 2 years they want details about that.
I'd suggest contacting Age UK to get their advice. Phone 0800 678 1602 from 8am - 7pm everyday including weekends:

That definitely looks odd. I don't think I could even remember some of my older addresses! Sorry I must have been looking at an older form when I commented above. Thank you for showing this current form.
I wonder if trying to complete this online might be easier, if not, do try Age UK, as I'm sure they'll have had many queries about this.

It does look odd doesn't it. Im wondering if this is a form that covers everything - including people who have lived and work overseas - and, as you infer, if you do it on line or by phone a lot of those questions are ignored.

Edit - My mistake, I linked the wrong form sorry.

This might solve the puzzle:-
To download a new State Pension application form (if living in the UK), you can't directly download a PDF from a general search. Instead, you'll need to either:
- Claim online: Use the online service on GOV.UK.
- Request a form: Call the Pension Service on 0800 731 7898 to have a form posted to you, says Age UK.
- Visit a Jobcentre Plus or the Pension Service: They can provide you with a claim form.
You'll need to provide details such as your National Insurance number, proof of identity, and information about any time spent living or working abroad
