Can I get a dropped curb for free?

Hi my name is Diane. I do not have a dropped curb. I have a mobility car as I don’t walk very well. Would I be able to get a dropped curb and driveway to my door for free. If not then how much would the cost be DIANE H

You definitely won't get it done for free, you will need to speak to your local council for permission to have a dropped kerb and they will do it at a cost.
A driveway you would have to arrange and pay for yourself.

A disabled facilities grant, or Occupational Therapy at your local council may offer something towards the cost.

For info on costs - my next door neighbour recently had a dropped kerb put in and I believe it was around £3,000 for the kerb drop. Then you have to add on the cost of the driveway. They own their house.
