The Quiet Man has been rather quiet of late. That usually means things are going to plan.

Ian and Duncan Smith, they used to be leaders of the tories, both of them! (Rory Bremner joke there).

I hope housing benefits don't change before I move into supported living

I was told to submit the form the day after my esa payment as it carries it on.. I then got a transitional payment a fortnight later.

Then I had the biographical phone call which was simple and quick then said I'd need go to jobcentre which I stressed about but was quick n nice lady but because the date of my jobcentre interview was after another fortnight I got another payment that I shouldn't have which was deducted from my first UC payment.

Am I the only one who feels like the constant changes to Universal Credit and disability benefits are really hard to keep up with? Every time I think I’ve understood what’s happening, something new comes along—cuts, freezes, protections, delays—and it’s so overwhelming.

I know the government says some people are “protected,” but … It doesn’t feel very disability-friendly or accessible when information keeps shifting and you have to dig through pages of rules just to know where you stand.

I’d love to know—does anyone else feel the same? How are you coping with all the updates? Do you have any tips for keeping track of what applies to you?

I’m not coping very well with the whole thing. It just feels relentless and certainly isn’t helping me feel any better or more able to work. So, it’s not having the effect they want on me!

The one thing I have done to help me cope - my GP always reassures me when she sees me every month but her reassurance doesn’t last when I’m at home alone with all the scary stuff. So, I asked her to write down what she says to me so now I have a letter I can read when I get overwhelmed with it all.

@Albus_Scope @Catherine21 Mr John Pring is an excellent disabled journalist. Respectfully, his news article you are quoting does not refer to Stephen Timms at all .

John Pring clearly states in the article (unaltered)- “the lead disability minister for the Treasury, Lord [Spencer] Livermore – who   leads on welfare policy for the Treasury and was director of strategy for Gordon Brown when he was prime minister – failed to put in a single appearance.”

While every MSM smears disabled people as scroungers and drain on the welfare system, John is the only person who speaks truth and his relentless work in exposing several truths and pushing for ongoing inquiries of deaths of several claimants by DWP is commendable.
please let’s show some gratitude for his excellent journalism.

    Thank you 🙏

It was actually the Tory plan to link PIP to receiving UC health element, that pushed me into applying for PIP which I was subsequently awarded.

Reading more articles saying job centre to contact all on lwcra to engage in preparing for work? Is that why want all over to UC

my wife has been contacted through UC in regards to the above. It is a voluntary option at the moment but i believe this is where it starts and eventually it will become compulsory.

DWP announced yesterday. Specialist Jobcentre staff redeployed to give skills and employment support to tens of thousands of people with no requirement to look for work.

Well I hope they don't contact me as I am worse now than when I got awarded LCWRA, my mobility is worse because of neuropathy from robotic hysterectomy , I can't even sit for long and I doubt any job is available for someone to lie down all day (sounds bad) that 😂

Seriously I couldn't work and I am 62 next year . I just want to be left alone to enjoy a bit of life after an extremely traumatic four years . Cancer and I lost my house and now live in social housing , but I have to say it is better here as I don't have to worry about repossession .

So I just hope they leave me alone .

It's voluntary so even if they contact me, I shall be ignoring them.
