ESA Transition to ( UC) and PIP

Hi Team
Hope you’re well
My mother is on ESA and PIP as she suffers from a mental illness which incapacitates her in many aspects. She has a doctor who sees her at home every year.
She receives ESA ( income related) and PIP, and I wonder if we were to move to her council house would she lose her benefits.
I work full time and my wife works part time, and mum is getting older and willl need looking after but I will continue to work full time and help as well. As opposed to sending her to a care home…
Would I have to pay rent or council tax if mum is on ESA soon to be UC , as well as getting PIP… Or would be exempt regardless of income…
thank you

Hello @Mark2024
To answer your questions I need a little more information: Is your mum currently living alone and do you know if anyone is claiming Carer's Allowance or the carer element of Universal Credit for looking after her? Or do you know if she currently receives SDP in with her ESA?

Looking at your posting history confuses me, but taking your post at face value.
Council Tax Reduction is decided on at a local level, so it's very hard to advise on individual cases from here.
I'd expect your Mum's CTR to be reduced and the CT bill to go up, as she would be living with two non dependants who both work.
Her Housing Benefit entitlement (later element) should remain the same, if on PIP Daily Living as that stops any non dependant deductions being made.

Hi,
We’ live with her, and no one is in receipt of Carers Allowance or UC as both my wife and I work full time for me, and part time for my wife. We also have two children living with us, and before it affects my mums benefits or makes us liable long term I wonder what implications may arise by us living with her.Thank you for your time ☺️
