Hello was in process of migration from ir esa to uc but kept getting message about benefit can effect uc payment and have appointment on 23rd July phone call about new esa I know nothing about this so kept putting in journal what is it all about already agreed to uc commitment as in support group but phone call is about commitment for ns esa again kept ringing up explaining I know nothing about ns esa only migration to uc until 2day I got first payment notice stating amount and then 609.10 deducted from it leaving less than 500 because rent straight to landlord it took me ages trying to find out why it deducted 609 from money it said as still getting esa but had letter from dwp saying esa had ended so went to bank and seen payment on 15th for esa a amount strange to me so I devided by 2 x52 ÷12 gave me the 609 figue deducted my issue and distress was I asked so many people and journal messages and got nothing I found this site earlier this would have sorted it for me but this phone call about ns esa commitment if in support group is it a formality or will I need information etc to talk about this process never easy and so many hoops to go through they should have just transfered support group straight over if the gov messes about with ns esa surly what they cut from that has to be added to uc under transisitional protection as they take all ns esa off my uc

Please see this thread for information about New Style ESA:

Read through and you'll find another thread linked within that which specifically details people's experience with the NS ESA commitments call.

Transitional Protection only applies if your UC award (before deductions) is lower than legacy benefits.

Universal Credit is replacing 6 income related benefits. CB ESA (now New Style ESA) isn't one of them.

The messages you are getting about other benefits are automated and don't need any action on your part. It's their way of reminding you to keep them updated about any changes. Sometimes I get one every month for 3 months, then nothing for 5. I ignore them all.
