Benefit advise needed please !

hi my name is Glenn ,
I wanted to start with that I been helped with advice here before and the scope team and community have been brilliant ! With the help, and I wish to thank to all with your warm welcomes !
I wish to ask another question if I May, if there is anybody able to advise me please has my brother Adrian is dyslexic, so has trouble form filling and I’m 150miles away unfortunately from each other for travelling to him,
what I would like is some advice has my brother Adrian is a 59 yr man that has recently has a heart attack unknown to him until complications started , for instance his body backed up fluids, Which made his legs and arm and his body double in size . He then admitted himself to hospital and after tests they found him to be very unwell and had a 3 week stay in hospital with specialist and consultants/drs administering drugs and drips and i’v in his arms but also on top of this he is diabetic and on insulin injections and has been for the last 4 year before the heart attack .. what I really would like to ask has he is in full time work, but now he been discharged from hospital, but still fairly poorly, he is worried about his work and managing to pay the rent , his employer is ok , and they’ve told him to just ‘recover’ and to get well soon also keep in touch either way . But what he is worried about is money !
so he needs to know has he seams he is going to be out of work, on long time sick and they will only pay 6 weeks full pay and 6 weeks half pay .. and he already been out including hospital stay 6 weeks , would he be able to claim any benefit has he and I do not know where to start,
also he has worked all his life since he was 16 yrs old on ‘YTS ‘ schemes .. now he is 59 yrs old and ill maybe he would be entitled to a benefit or could he claim early state pension (early retirement) ! Hope someone can help us with advice , this would be much appreciated.
With thanks
Glenn .

New Style ESA and Universal Credit are possibilities, alongside Council Tax Reduction.
If awarded ESA & UC, then SSP and ESA are deducted in full from the UC award.
He could also look at claiming PIP which isn't linked to work.
