Why all the guess work!!!!

I am trying to work out what I will get on UC.
Why they can't simply have told me over the phone I don't know. All the lady said was I will get transitional Protection and it's the same. It should be more. My statement isn't due yet, can I ask on my journal what the benefit will be?
ESA to UC is £18 a week difference. I get transitional Protection for that. Support group to lcwra is £50 difference. If that TP gets taken off it should still leave me with £28 extra, so it's not the same as the lady said.

DWP staff administer the benefit claims, they aren't trained welfare advisors.
In some circumstances UC pays more than legacy benefits - those in ESA Support Group without the SDP for example.
Otherwise, Transitional Protection will be added to your claim if your legacy benefits exceed your UC award. This ensures at the time of transfer you aren't worse off and receive the same money. Transitional Protection does erode over time.
UC works by adding up your entitlement, including TP, then making any deductions.
Each payment is based on your circumstances for the previous calender month, known as the Assessment Period. It's your circumstances on the last day of your AP which is really important and what each payment is based on.
Citizens Advice have a dedicated Help to Claim service, they can assist you to estimate your award and check the first payment statement is correct when it arrives.

At the time people aren't worse off yes. But as it erodes they are afterwards. How are the government even sleeping at night.
The ridiculous thing is I have a date in which to apply for a loan, I don't know what my benefit will even be. I am not going for the loan as I don't want to be given deductions for the next few years when my benefit isn't going to keep pace with life.
Sorry I just find the whole system ridiculous
