Voluntary Ni conribution on UC

please can somebody advise me as I am now very frustrated I have a joint claim with my wife for UC I am her carer I believe universal credit pays voluntary national insurancecontributions if you are on universal credit I myself being on carers allowance for caring for my wife they are paid by carers allowance
When I checked with national insurance Contribution department they said that my voluntary contribution has not been paid by universal credit but has by carers allowance and for my wife I have to get in touch with UC when I rang universal credit to sort this out they put in the journal to their appropriate department and my situation and said I would get an answer by 28th of July which was today Regarding my wife’s national insurance contributions. I managed to get a reply.
Unfortunately the reply was very confusing it read that my wife being my carer will not get national insurance contributions from universal credit and that I get in touch with carers allowance to sort out the voluntary contributions as she is my carer and that carers will not get national insurance contributions from universal credit and that I get in touch with carers allowance to sort out the voluntary contributions as she is my carer how on earth they got that wrong I do not know this reply came from the case manager in my wife’s journal. I have text in the journal explaining the confusion that I am my wife’s and not the other way round and I want to know why my wife’s voluntary contributions are not paid I also rang the telephone number like before and this time the person I spoke to said universal credit don’t pay voluntary contributions. I am totally confused and don’t know what to do. Please can somebody advise me? Hope everything makes sense and apologies for a very long message.
