Hi, my name is Darndale186!

Hi I wonder if anyone can help.
I am a resident of Northern Ireland.
My daughter will be 18 in November.
She is now going into the second year of a childcare course she will be applying for EMA which she got last year thething is,she finished her course early last year and the school offered her a job as a **** classroom assistant she then got paid after all her police checks were carried out this year she has to do over 600 hours for her second year course she does not know yet if she will be getting paid for these hours as placement hours or will she be getting paid after she has the 600 hours do I need to let UC know about this?
Will this affect my benefits as I am a single mother who claims universal credit for myself and my daughter?
I’m completely confused has anybody been in the same situation as myself any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Is she still studying a qualifying course for her to remain on your UC as a dependant? If so, UC won't need to know about EMA or earnings she makes, just as long as she isn't being paid to train such as an apprenticeship style role. A job separate to her normal college is fine.
