RECEIVED MIGRATION NOTICE TO UNIVERSAL CREDIT

Hi everyone can someone please help me with some advice.
My husband has received his migration letter. My husband has Chronic Myloid Leaukaemia. He has had this for over 15 years. He has been receiving IR ESA, also in the support group. I am on his claim because I’m his wife but I don’t receive any individual money myself from his esa claim. He receives the lower pip for daily living and mobility. I am also disabled and suffer with a lot of different ailments and have had lots of surgeries. I receive pip lower rate daily and higher rate mobility. I am also my husbands carer which I receive carer’s allowance because I am the only person who can care for him. We also receive housing benefit and are allowed the extra bedroom in our home because of both our problems.
could someone please advise me how hard it is to claim universal credit as I am worried sick after reading some of the discussions on this page. Will our rent still be paid in full even though we have the extra bedroom.
Will I need proof again off the doctor to say we need 2 bedrooms?
Will I need to get in touch with the council who we rent a home off to prove how much the rent is. We currently have all of our rent and council tax paid for us.
Sorry for the long message but I just need this advise so I can get any information together before I apply.
Thank you for reading this post.

Citizens Advice offer a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after your claim.

    https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/claiming/contact-us-about-universal-credit/

Your circumstances fit the maximum payable for a couples claim:

1 x LCWRA element (the UC equivalent of ESA Support Group for hubby)

    1 x Carers Element (you).

You won't have any work commitments due to being a carer.

Carers Allowance will be deducted in full from your UC award.

After you've submitted your application, you will need to request that UC pay for the extra bedroom, entitlement to this isn't automatically transferred from Housing Benefit.

Because you live in social housing UC will contact your landlord for confirmation of rent.

Council Tax Reduction is decided on at a local level, so it's very hard to advise on individual cases from here. Some areas do treat UC differently to legacy benefits and some people have seen an increase in the amount of Council Tax they have to pay themselves.
