PIP why do they make it so hard?

Today we had the answer to whether or not my son was going to be put back on enhanced mobility . They put my appeal letter on the wrong pile! I decided to phone after not hearing anything for five months. it was then that I was told it was on the wrong pile .the argument is because he can walk for upto 200 metres .At the end of the day he still has cerebral palsy and has continuous pain when walking . He has had 3 operations on his Hemi leg from tendon transfer to major reconstruction to his foot.He wears an AFO all the time but I feel none of this is taken into consideration . I have been asked to write a diary for when he is struggling and in pain .He has had cerebral palsy since birth and very complains of pain .I'm sure some of you can relate to this .All I want is the best for my son so he can have independence and support he needs . sorry for the moan needed to vent somewhere .

It's incredibly frustrating @carolynw. I'm really sorry to hear you and your son have had such a fight and I'm sure your frustration will be shared by so many of others on the community. It can be a really difficult process to go through and so horrible to have to jump through all the hoops when someone is clearly in need.
Was this a mandatory reconsideration?

It's well worth giving it a go if you can summon the strength @carolynw, but I know it's hard. Lots of people find the tribunal judges are much more understanding and often have much better results than at mandatory reconsideration.
I recommend getting some help from Citizens Advice or another local benefits adviser if you do decide to go to tribunal. They can often take a look at the claim and offer some useful advice and guidance on how to get the most out of your appeal. Turn2Us have a place to search for local advisers if that's something you'd like to do:
