The Hunger of the Gods, the second book of a three book series by John Gwynne.
A Norse inspired fantasy trilogy.
We read the story of the Bloodsworn in a world whete the gods have all but disappeared, it is an epic saga of myth, magic and bloody vengeance.
It brought me back to reading again after years of not reading.
Prior to this series years ago, I read the Dragonlance chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman.

@Mary_Scope Hello :) This is the first steam punk series I’ve read, I don’t really know how I came across it but I’d found it in the library and I’m really enjoying it. It is a “Newbury & Hobbes investigation” series, they are the two main characters. The stories are fun!
I haven’t read the book you mentioned but I’m open to recommendations :)

@SmellyBin @MissMarple I hope you’re both feeling okay today, I’m hoping the temps drop as I’ve struggled in the summer and today was cooler which I’m thankful for :)
