Confused about my award results
hi everyone, I’m hoping someone will be able to shed some light on my pip award that’s given to me and if this is the norm for DWP,
I had my review recently I’m glad it was only a paper based review and not a horrid telephone assessment,
I recieved my award letter last week and it states the following dates I’m awarded still from 24th September 2025 to 23rd March 2028 ,
but then it states We will also contact you while you are getting PIP to see if your needs have changed and to look at the amount you get. This will be after 23 March 2027.so why are they going to bother me after the 23rd March 2027 if I’ve been awarded till March 2028?
When should I expect them to contact me again for another review 2027 or 2028 that’s what I’d like to know and how long is my award till ?

Because reviews are taking such a long time, they are being started about a year before the award end date.
You should expect to be contacted around March 2027.
Your payments will continue until the outcome of that review.
If it gets near March 2028 and you haven't had a result, 35 days before the end of your award a letter will be sent extending the award by one year.
The review outcome will then overrule that date.

So In other words they harass you again a year before the award end date?
Why state 2028 ,
also id like to know the points that I’ve been given again seems a little low I don’t feel like I’m getting the right amounts,if I have any doubts about it do you think I should pursue an MR or should I just appreciate the fact that I’ve been awarded something and take it on the chin for now ?

hi kimi
I have sent my pip renewal form 8 weeks ago
I have sent consultant letter gp letter medication repeat Cbt session multiple hospital injections
I called today they said is with HP and there is backlog if they need something they will contact directly
I am very concerned
Do you think will be Papper

Kimi has given excellent information.
It isn't harassment, PIP send the forms early because of the long process time, that is all.
If you put in a MR, your whole award is looked at again, it could lowered, increased or stopped, be aware of that. I would only go with an MR if you definitely know you can increase your award.… Personally I would accept the current award, I always have.

Kimi will probably say the same as me in your thread. Relax and calm down.

is very hard I keep worrying if I submitted enough evidence and if my evidence are solid for paper review

If you have not submitted enough information, you will be contacted for the extra information, so stop worrying about it. Come back to us if that is the case and we will help!

Hi @saj26 - I certainly hope your PIP review goes well. However, I have to counter some of what @Trevor_PIP has said, & his perhaps muddling it with a query initially posted by another member. He's a very kindly person, but I believe that as well as being supportive we should be completely honest to the best of our abilities as there are so many variables.
You have just been told that your review is with an assessor, & unfortunately these reviews seem to be taking some time. You will be contacted if you need an assessment, which is usual. Some people have a 'paper-based' review, & we can't know if that will be the case. Certainly providing enough evidence may result in a paper-based assessment, but, medical evidence matters less than how you have described how your disabilty affects you. Sadly we can't say whether you will have a paper-based assessment, or not.

It is hard to say being honest. Other members have waited the same amount of time. Your anxious state will think the worst unfortunately. It is a stressful process but please accept PIP applications are at an all time high with 1000's a week. Processing time has slowed. If you feel that bad, give them a call and explain the worry is getting to much. Hopefully you will get the response you require.

@saj26 you have done all the right things, sent in your detailed PIP form with your evidence. The process is long and delayed. I would not worry over the assessment, you might not be called for one. I have looked at your messages and I suggest you stay calm. It is not worth worrying over things you have no control over, it's the PIP process unfortunately. If you are feeling desperate, call the H P for an update. That is all you can do presently. Stay calm.
