I'm always evolving. I think we all do, whether we try or don't, whether we want to or don't. In my experiences, it matters a lot who we listen to determine where we go. You know, selective listening.

I have managed to block out so many memories which seemed to work extremely well for me until the past two years. For some reason everything just leaked through and its been bizarre.Trying not to lose a sense of reality while parenting a child. Then realising that history is actually repeating itself in that your child is doing things which affect your emotions.Seeing it from how it must of affected my dad ( for example). It's so very odd.Remembering memories that were there I didn't remember.

By you being brave and facing all of the hurt, pain and trauma Jane, you are now breaking the cycle of the "unhealed" generational trauma that was passed down in your bloodline! You are a very caring mum and courageous lady and much more stronger than you think 💛

Yes been speaking to kiki about this as well im exactly same unpacking alot i think for some women hitting menopause opens everything you been masking for years you cant do as much masking is incredibly draining

Catherine, I'm sorry to hear after all this time you're still having this cycle with your father.
Please don't forget the amazing progress you've made here in the last 18 or so months, you've become such a popular, valued and loved member here, I am very proud of seeing your journey where you started on this forum to where you are now, the incredible transformation you've made to deal with your anxiety etc is absolutely staggering.

I was also bullied at school by both pupils and teachers I still have nightmares about it and I left over 25 years ago.
bullies don't realise the damage, I was also abused by a teacher and it caused big issues apparently it continued after I left and thankfully someone spoke out and the place was closed down in 2006.
onto more positive things I live in the past through, tv shows etc from happier times so old soaps that were on tv when I was very young I still rewatch beginning to end regularly because They remind me of my nan pretending I couldn't sleep so I could watch cell Block H, coming home early from school to watch sons and daughters, watching shortland Street at lunchtimes in the holidays.
I also still mainly listen to songs from 1988-1992 regularly and that's been going on for decades, the autism lady who diagnosed me ssid these things were common in unhappy people desperate not to move away from the happiest period of their lives and deal with the pain.
I try relive the good memories and drown out the bad ones.
Does anyone love scented candles? I use them daily it helps calm me.

Hi @Kookee
I use three sources for digital scrapbooking, as follows…
There is an app called Adobe Express, which you can also use online. It's got fantastic pics, which is the reason I subscribed for a year. But I just found out I don't have a license to publish their pics outside their app, which means the pics often have Adobe Stock written across them and/or a number. So I don't know how good their software is because I haven't used it yet. But given the source, I'm sure it's great.
There is a stand-alone software that I use that's really basic and easy to use and dirt cheap. That's what I've been using with the Adobe pics and Googled images. It's not fancy at all, but it does the trick of allowing me to be creative. You pay once and it's yours for as many years as it's compatible. This is it:
The third is also a stand-alone software which I used for a few years when I first started digital scrapbooking in 2010. It was fabulous. Just fabulous. So I ordered the current version, but it hasn't arrived yet. So I can't comment yet on how good it is. But it looks like pretty much what I had. It's in between the price of Adobe and MyMemories. Like with MyMemories, you pay once and can use it for as many years as it's compatible. Here it is:
I hope you find something you love. 💓😊
