Migration from IR-ESA SG to UC. Ended up getting NS-ESA - UC
Wanted to share my experience with you all, I panicked thinking it was going to all go wrong and be confused in what next to do.
I left my migration notice till a week left and done everything through CAB help to claim and they was very, very helpful and got this all up and running in a 3 way call, the DWP lady was very respectful towards me (thank god) that went well and then got a text commitments sorted the same day, then got a call from a great helpful guy at my job centre for ID and he was very understanding and I got my SG status moved straight over there and then to LCWRA.
I had bad visions of it all going wrong, but No. A Lady at the same Job centre that does the ESA she went through everything and explained I'm on UC and New Style ESA I thought omg but she was very helpful in her explanation of what will now happen. The reason I'm now getting the N S ESA instead of just UC it's because I had paid loads of NIC's and got Class 1 under my IR-ESA, it's all confusing.
I say to anyone going through process get the help from CAB.
I hope everyone gets a decent outcome❤️
A big thanks to some on here that helped. 👍

There is a thread that explains the New Style ESA thing here:
Basically your previous ESA award was actually both Income Related and Contributions Based.
The CB ESA came from either NI Contributions through previous work, or if you transferred to ESA from the old Incapacity Benefit.
There were also special Youth rules for both IB & ESA, where if certain other conditions were met, no NI conts were needed.
