CP and difficulty coughing
Hi. I have spastic quadriplegia and am a full time power chair user. More recently, I have been having difficulty coughing (particularly when I have a cold) due to spasticity and weak muscles in the chest. I just wondered does anyone else have this problem? If so, what helps?
I have briefly looked at using a cough assist machine, does anyone else use this?
Thanks
C

@C2793 hope you are OK. You should consult your Doctor, but I understand you are asking members what could help.

Hi @C2793
Welcome to the community. I'm Sara and part of the CP Network here at Scope.
I would also recommend contacting your GP if you have noticed changes with your cerebral palsy.
I'm tagging @Richard_Scope who is the Programme Lead for our Network, in case he has any advice for you. You are also welcome to join our Network. It's a community where you can access resources, support and discussions around CP. We host monthly Zoom meetings on the second Wednesday of each month, from 6pm-7pm.
