Help please!
Hi can somebody please help me as im getting conflicting information from everywhere. I am currently a student in university. However, i have missed so much time due to health issues. I have been submitting fit notes since the 22nd april. I had my WCA last month and have been awarded LCWRA. My question is, am i eligible for the extra payment on universal credit for LCWRA? Also, im a carer for my son (he receives DLA) ive had a note in my journal today to tell me i need to report change that i stopped caring for him when i started university. Is this correct? as i do care for him. I understand i cannot claim carers allowance whilst in study but i thought i could claim carers element? i have a partner, and children if that helps? Please can somebody point me in the right direction as if im not going to receive any extra payment for LCWRA, i might as well give up university so i don't lose it as i can't see a very good outlook anyway due to all the time ive already missed.

As there is quite a lot going on I'd recommend contacting a local welfare rights organisation for assistance.
You could also try Disability Rights UK who have a Disabled Students Helpline

Hi @jenni2010 and a warm welcome to the community from me!
I see Kimi has already answered your question and given some really good advice and signposting so I won't add anything else today but it's lovely to have you here and I hope you enjoy your time on the community😄1 -
@jenni2010 I agree with Kimi now, I did not realise you had posted two threads. You normally cannot claim UC as a full time university student.
I investigated for information on your second thread about your DLA son only, where you have exceptional circumstances caring for him. In that case it is possible to claim UC Carers Element but not definite. I told you what to do which is investigated information.
If your Partner works full time this will reduce your LCWRA allowance too.
