@crimsonsun I get that re your wife's anxiety, I'm a basket case the past year with sheer panic.
Its a horrendous situation to be in.

If you are going to get a AR2 form next, you don't need to go into the same detail as the AR1 form. The DWP know you are unlikely to improve and it is a "light touch" Review. Though we all like to give the whole story but you don't need to with this form and it is shorter!

Is an AR1 guaranteed? I have a 10 year award, described as "ongoing". A friend, despite being equally disabled, received a 3 year award, extended to 4 because of Covid, but has since been reassessed using an AR1. He got an indefinite award.

You mean an AR2 guaranteed? An AR2 form is a light touch review form for claimants who have reached pension age or who have an ongoing PIP award. Your friend would have had to use the AR1 form with a normal PIP award of 4 years.

I would go one step further and send it back by recorded delivery - whilst you don't get an individuals signature proving receipt - at least you do discover when the letter arrives at DWP.
It costs £2.20 but is worth it for peace of mind.

I didn't see the form but believe he just ticked boxes stating there had been no change in his condition. Rightly, he went from a 3 year award to an ongoing award.

I filled my daughter one in a few months ago. I would still send in the same evidence, I did, as well.as new one. There are sites that can help you fill in, by explaining what the new form entails. If you Google it, some should come up

The pip review form requires you to give more than no change. My husband who is my carer and daughter filled out the form for me as the medication I am taking affects my concentration and memory. So I would give as much detail as possible. I didn't do that with the last form back in 2023 and had a telephone assessment and was awarded standard for both from enhanced for both. My husband submitted my form November 25 and a decision has been made and should hear first week in January 2026. All the best.

So an update, I couldn't stop worrying about it, so I've done a full detailed breakdown for every category again. I did it on a labelled and clearly laid out supporting document (it goes 10 pages) with each question I'm just directing them to the supporting form because writing by hand just doesn't work for me nor was their space. I simply didn't want to risk it, its too important.
