Limited Capability for Work when already working?

Hi all

I wondered if anyone had experience/knowledge of whether it's ever possible for a UC claimant to be assessed and awarded LCW when they are already working (part time and struggling to continue with it due to health problems)?

I'm just thinking about this from the angle of the Work Allowance, I've helped clients who do not work, to get LCW and then find part time work and be able to keep most of their wages via the work allowance.

Logic would suggest it can work the other way around, i.e. be already working limited hours due to health, claim UC and hopefully be awarded the work allowance through LCW.

Thanks .

Yep this is possible but if they're working more than 16 hours a week (or more accurately earning more than the same as 16 x the national minimum wage per week) to be able to be referred for a work capability assessment they also have to be receiving PIP. If they're earning more than that and don't get PIP, it's not possible to get referred ❤️
