Looking for a list of examples for PIP aids and appliances

Hi,

I am trying to complete my PIP review form but due to my autism/adhd, poor mental health and just the fact that it was created by the devil, I am struggling to write or think clearly.

I have tried looking online but I am struggling to find what I’m looking for. I am not sure exactly what is classed as an aid or appliance, so a list of these would be a really helpful prompt or guide for me.

Does anyone have a list of aids/appliances for each PIP activity?

Thank you

    What Counts as an Aid/Appliance?

    • Aids: Devices that help a function (e.g., spectacles, walking stick).
    • Appliances: Devices that provide or replace a function (e.g., prosthesis, wheelchair, stoma collecting device).

    Examples by Activity:

    • Cooking/Eating: Modified knives/forks, easy-grip jugs, kettles with holders, reachers.
    • Toileting: Commode chairs, raised toilet seats, grab rails, non-slip mats, tap turners.
    • Getting Around/Mobility: Walking sticks, wheelchairs, scooters, grab rails (bed/bath), leg lifters, ramps.
    • Dressing: Button hooks, zip pullers, sock/tights aids, adjustable beds.
    • Other: Specialist software (screen readers), alarms, prosthetics, even things like incontinence pads or stoma bags.
