LCWRA Backpay

Hi, I’ve been in LCW since June 2022 and was just awarded LCWRA. I sent in my reassessment forms in March 2024 with worsening conditions but no fit notes and no change of health on my UC account but only had the phone assessment in December 25. Found out last week they have awarded me LCWRA and have backdated it for a year. I’m very confused as been told it’s not usually backdated if no new fit notes and if review was initiated by DWP. Would it say on my journal that I put in a change of health as I can’t find one on there. Also, why backpay for a year and not to march 24 when I put my forms in? Many thanks

    Hi,

    If you didn't report a change of circumstances through your UC account then it won't show on the journal list.

    It is correct that they don't have to give backpay in these circumstances. However they do have the discretion to do so, and it sounds like they have chosen to give you some backpay in this case. I don't know why they'd limit in to one year.
