If you were to teach something you’re good at, what would it be?
For me, I'd teach piano as I've been playing since I was very young. I tried to teach my son but he had little interest in it. I'm hoping my daughter will be different! She's 1 and absolutely loves her little instrument box, but it's maybe because she gets to hit a drum and make a loud noise 😂
What would you teach?

They are great skills to teach @rubin16! Have you taught them before? I remember you saying you worked in cybersecurity.
That's amazing @Amberpearl! Did you teach all ages? I used to have lessons and absolutely loved it but then I got too ill. My mum has MS and has lessons every week with the Riding for the Disabled Association and has been going for years.

This is funny as I was talking about this to my parents this morning!!!
They wanted to say "no" to someone about a difficult idea someone had presented to them that the person would probably forget about in a week anyway. I asked them if they'd like me to give them a lesson on giving non-committal answers for the sake of diplomacy 😆
I've had to grow up surviving by not overtly disagreeing with dangerous people, and over time I developed a way to show I understand without condoning what they say or abandoning my own views
So now when someone has a crazy impulsive idea, or says an extremist view, I still come out with stuff like "yeah, that makes sense" or "that's a really interesting thought"

I'm very intrigued @66Mustang about your answer. Are you able to share why you had to learn such a skill? It's so difficult saying no to people, I'd definitely love some tips in doing that 😂
Do you have any pictures @Amberpearl? I love horses. We have quite a few horses walking past our house - with riders of course!
Engineering fascinates me @OverlyAnxious. What type of engineering would you teach? I love learning how rollercoasters and aeroplanes work.

Car maintenance for me 😀

I would love to learn an instrument.
I'd teach nutrition and simple home cooking

I could do with that @Carl_Scope!
What instrument would you like to learn @Emilee? They're great things to teach. My son could do with some simple home cooking lessons. If he's asked to make his own tea he just has soup and toast! Any suggestions for something easy he could make?

Funnily enough, I think I'd like to learn the piano. I purchased a full sized keyboard a few years ago with the intention of learning but after a couple of YouTube videos I gave up and it has been sat gathering dust.
With cooking, I think stews and soups are a great place to start because you can’t really go wrong. They’re great for building confidence and experimenting in the kitchen because you can play around and throw anything in.
I love baking, but it does require sticking closely to recipes, which doesn’t always help with building that same confidence or learning to trust your gut.

Maybe you could dust it off and give it another go @Emilee? Are there any particular songs you'd like to learn? You could find an easy tutorial for it and it'd be more motivating than doing scales!
Considering how much my son loves soup it'd be a great idea for him to make his own. I'm sure his answer would be 'why wouldn't I just use a tinned one' though!

I would probably teach graphic design. I’ve been doing it years now so one would like to think I have some wisdom to impart!!

So many great ideas here… I'd definitely be taking a lot of lessons 😄🤣

I dabble a bit in graphic design too @PixelMist. I'd love to see some of your work if you're happy to share? We have Kaleidoscope where our members share their creative talents!

I would teach Woodworking & Joinery, or PC & Internet Skills.
I was a Time Served Shopfitting Joiner many many years ago, and I even taught Woodworking to clients of a Brain Injury Charity for a couple of years which was super rewarding to me.
And PC Skills as I’ve been using Computers and The Internet since before there was an Internet, lol.0 -
I've been using most of the full Suite of MS Office since 1992, so I could teach that… Also, unlike most of social media I can spell and have perfect grammar, so I could teach English.
I could also teach basic self defence having learned Japanese Karate and currently doing Taekwondo.
