Regular Mortgage Overpayments
Hi there,
There is a lot of mixed information online about this topic so just wondering if anyone would be able to provide some clarity.
My husband and I have a joint UC claim. We both work, he is full time (around 50hrs per week) and I'm part time (around 15hrs per week). We have 2 children, the youngest recieves high rate DLA care component. We therefore receive extra elements to our UC (disability & carers). I also receive PIP (standard daily living).
We have spent the majority of our relationship in credit card debt, which we have now thankfully all paid off. I would like to start making overpayments on our mortgage from our wages. I'm thinking about £300-£400 per month. Would this be considered deprivation of capital by UC?
Thanks so much for reading!
