MOVING WITHIN SOCIAL HOUSING; PITFALLS ANYONE?

Almost a year to the day we moved into social housing following a section 21 no fault eviction. A one bedroom over 55s place with a well known provider. They have abolished their priority move scheme just as we were about to try to get somewhere much less hilly as my husband can't take it any more. Grateful to avoid being homeless, and boy it got close, but this terrain is brutal! So, back to the drawing board. Here's the thing. I've found a 2 bedroom flat, same thing, sheltered housing, service charge for heating/water/hot water/laundry which we haven't got here. Electricity bills have been huge and with this Iran situation it is going to get worse. We were migrated onto UC back in July. If we like the place, can anyone think of something I've missed? I've been so tired out lately I'm literally scared to death that if we take on the new place there's some catch I haven't thought of. I know I'll be paying bedroom tax, yes I know which service charges I'm liable for, I am probably being silly but people, am I likely to trigger something? Husband is support group ESA, full PIP (very long award) I'm his carer and I get low mobility. I think I'm just over thinking it (who said AuDHD????!!!!!) but hey, with all the rule changes going on you just never know………any advice welcome folks.

Always read any contracts before you sign them, including the fine print if there's any.

Hell yeah!! My sister once lost her security deposit as the landlord had expected her to paint all the window frames, which hadn't been touched in years. Nor had he asked her to!! Mind boggles.

Hello @TheCatSays. You may wish to check the difference in council tax as your contribution and bill may change. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.
