Pip tribunal hearing in 2 weeks

Hi everyone, especially the moderators, who helped me with my LCWRA. Now it's PIP time. I have a hearing in 3 weeks (after 22 months of applying and chasing my appeal). What should I expect. I've seen a lot of inconsistencies in transcripts of my initial assessment and mandatory reconsideration assesment. They are basically lies. I called PIP and requested recordings, but they don't make them unless you specificcaly ask them to. What should I do? How should I prepare?

Thanks, Joanna

Hi @joannal. Sorry it's taken so long for them to get your tribunal sorted. There's lot of helpful information here https://www.scope.org.uk/advice-and-support/challenging-pip-or-other-benefits-decisions#Tribunal-appeal-click .

On a personal note, I went through a tribunal and found it to be the 'easiest' part of the whole process. I did it via video call and had my husband next to me for support. He wasn't allowed to say anything until they asked him if he wanted to add anything at the end, which he did. I had my notes with me to make sure I had all the information I needed as I can be quite forgetful. I think there were 3 people there including a Doctor and someone from the DWP. It might feel like they're interrogating you but it's just so they can really understand your situation.

Are you doing it via video call? Do you have anyone that can be there with you? I would suggest making notes of the parts where you say they've lied and write the reason why it's untrue. It can be difficult in the moment to get the right words together.

Hi Rachel. I have a face to face hearing and my support worker from charity that helps me is coming with me. I'm worried that I won't win, because in assessments done by pip i scored 0 points.
