They're aware most people hate F2F appointments but they don't have the tech for Zoom meetings etc which in a lot of cases would be better.

Sorry just realised it didnt fully post what i posted on uc.

Heya sorry I wasn't sure where the best place to post this was but I want to ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration of my Work Capability Assessment decision from today. I got put in the LCW group, but I believe I should be in the LCWRA group due to severe anxiety. Right now my anxiety is so bad that I am entirely housebound and cannot leave the house for appointments. My work coach has kept me on phone appointments for months because going to the Jobcentre causes extreme overthinking and worry, which completely drains me and ruins my mental stability. My mum even has to pick up my prescriptions for me. I really want to do training courses and workshops in the future, but I am terrified to do them right now because of my constant overthinking and worry about not doing it right. Now that my fit notes have stopped, I am completely panicking that my phone appointments will be taken away. If being put on LCW means being forced to attend face-to-face meetings or courses would cause a substantial risk to my mental health. For my own safety and recovery, I need the pressure taken off.

The LCWRA descriptors are here, so you need to focus your argument based on which one you would qualify under.

    was looking into it

The distress must be severe enough to act as a barrier to engaging with people, such as being unable to leave the house due to agoraphobia, ignoring visitors, or being unable to attend appointments that require interaction.

i seem to cover number 13 so when i provide more evidence make sure it is on number 13?

Hi @as311. Sorry that it's causing you so much stress. It seems like number 13 would be the most appropriate based on what you've described, so yes, focus on that one. This website gives a bit more information on that descriptor which could help you gather the evidence you need https://www.advicenow.org.uk/get-help/benefits/universal-credit-uc/limited-capability-work-and-work-related-activity-element

Do you have any mental health support?

Not a problem, @as311, I hope it's useful. That's good that you have your GP. There's always time for CBT. If you don't feel ready that's absolutely fine. Have you spoken to your GP about other types of therapy? There are quite a few and there might be some that are better suited to your needs or that could be a good starting point before embarking on CBT.

I was working up nerve to ring gp again soon, might wait a week or so cuz i need to let him know if the mirtazapine has been helping, it doesn't feel like it has been but i have only been on it for just over a week so haven't noticed anything yet, I was gonna ask if they could write a note I could send in as evidence and was thinking about asking about the self guided therapy? not 100% sure what its called or anything im able to do online

That sounds like a good idea. It'll take some time for the tablets to start working properly. You could ask the GP for a list of your medication and conditions as evidence. They could even write a letter explaining your anxiety and how it affects you, although they may charge for these.

Here's some information from the NHS about CBT and some things you can try at home https://www.nhs.uk/every-mind-matters/mental-wellbeing-tips/self-help-cbt-techniques/ . Just don't put too much pressure on yourself. Take things slowly.
