Going Cold Turkey On Vaping!
I've been vaping for about 2 and a half years now and I really want to stop! I want to get fitter, healthier, and better my mental health, so my plan is to just go cold turkey and avoid NRT (if I can)… I know it will be hard but I am determined to do it! I am going to also start running again, something which I have not done since about 3 years ago. Has anyone on here done something similar whether smoking or vaping? If so, you got any tips or tricks I can try to help me out?

I don't know about vaping, but giving up smoking is easy: I've done it hundreds of times…

Good luck with this Sight! Very wise, but it perhaps won't be easy. Let me cheer you on :)

The easiest way to give up smoking or vaping is not to start it in the first place, I've done that for 50 years.

Good luck @sightsmash! I don't have any tips other than when you get a craving, just think about the end goal and how much better you'll feel if you resist.

I've downloaded the NHS Couch to 5K app on my phone, so going to give that a try for my fitness, that's half the battle though, eventually I can quit this vaping alongside it!

Good on you! I have faith that you can do this. Just be careful when exercising in this heat. It's probably the worst week to start 😅Maybe the vaping will naturally stop as you'll feel better in yourself from running and you won't need it. Have you got a pen or fidget toy or something you could use so you can break the habit of reaching for the vape?

Not yet but I can get hold of something I'm sure

Good for you @sightsmash! I'm a smoker and do find that exercise reduces how much I smoke. I'd love to get to a point like you soon, where I'm ready to quit. The NHS might have some help in reducing nicotine intake etc if you find that might be helpful.
The couch to 5k sounds like a great place to start! Have you got a smart watch? I find tracking my workouts and steps really helps to encourage me ☺️

I don't have a smart watch no, but I plan on getting an Apple Watch
