Hi, I am on Universal Credit & higher rate PIP, etc.

I recently had my 30 year old condencer tumble dryer stop working, I was given it from a ex-lodger he brought it 2nd hand, so need to buy a new one, as need my carers to dry my cloths & beddings, etc.

I am 60 with 21 medical conditions including a terminal illness severe emphasema (COPD). I have 24.5 hours care a week.

I need to know if any one know if I can apply some where for a grant to purchase a dryer please, if so to whome & where please, not sure if any one can give me a link or is allowed to post the relavant links here to a website to apply for a grant, many thanks Kenny.

Some local authorities do run a 'white good scheme', you'd need to check your LA website as it's not every one. Also not sure a dryer is offered - fridge, cookers & washing machines yes.

You could go onto turn2us website and see if you qualify for any charitable grants.

Or, something I used for a fridge a while back was using paypal 'pay in 3' so I just ordered a cheap fridge as normal, paid via paypal and opted to split the payments into 3. I did manage to find a discount code (googled) which saved me £50 - always worth a check for those.

Hope that helps, good luck. xx
