Hello everyone! Please help me, someone, share your experience. I have a slight disability and don't understand how to raise my self-esteem in this case and not be afraid to meet people.Although I am outwardly pleased and pretty, this disease kills all confidence in me. :(

I will be very grateful if someone answers me!

Have a look around and join in when you are ready.

You might like to start with the Coffee Lounge under Categories. If you get chatting with other members it might help with your confidence, and you could share how you deal with situations.

    Take care.

    Hi @saiko

Welcome to the community. I'm Sara and part of the Cerebral Palsy Network at Scope. If you have cerebral palsy you are welcome to join our Network. We host monthly online meetings and it's a great space to meet likeminded people. If you feel nervous about attending, you could come along and just listen without putting your camera on.

I can empathise with your situation as I experienced low self esteem for many years. When I was a child and a young adult, I felt embarrassed being the “disabled person” in the room. I felt judged by my peers, teachers, and colleagues, and isolated from the world. At that stage of my life, celebrating cerebral palsy and epilepsy would have been the furthest thing from my mind.

But when I least expected it, people came into my life, and they had an impact that changed how I viewed myself. It all began with a small encouragement from the Manager of Epilepsy Action Wales. She invited me to share my personal journey with epilepsy and connect with others who shared the same condition.

These experiences have built my confidence and friendship groups.

You've already made the first step into building connections just by typing out your post.

    Take care
