Reporting An Improvement/Fluctuating Condition.

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if anyone can advise on this.

I have been on PIP for a few years and my award is due for review in 2029.

The main condition I have is physically and mentally draining but it is a fluctuating "visible" condition that varies in severity. Sometimes it is minimal but I will still be in some pain and fatigue, other times it is terrible and I am in the house for a week or so doing nothing, it is a cycle of good and bad.

Recently I was diagnosed with another condition that turns out can be managed by the same medication I already take, but at a higher dose.

Initially the higher dose caused me worse symptoms but I have settled now and my flares have become minimal and I have a bit more energy. I would say it's affecting me 30% of my week now rather than 60% and my mobility feels better.

I know it says "report changes to us immediately" but I was wondering how exactly do I update about this considering it's a fluctuating condition.

I feel like if I say I've waited and monitored it for 2 weeks, they will be like "why didn't you tell us 2 weeks ago" but I wanted to see if this actually lasts.

Any ideas or advice?

    Hi,

The PIP letters are misleading. You don't need to report a change unless it will affect the award level and the amount of payment that you get.

There isn't any way to report a fluctuating condition. Any condition that only affects you for 30% of the time will be disregarded during reassessment. They are only interested in conditions that affect you for more than 50% of the time.
