Hi, I am the mother of 3 boys, the eldest and youngest were born blind as well as intellectual disability, so I have had a double whammy across 2 generations...very steep learning curve.
I feel now that this has been a hugely positive experience despite everything. The worst thing these days is dealing with other people's negativity, it can be so subtle..but I have grown beyond it and have learned so much. I am very grateful for that. Not what I imagined for myself but I don't regret a thing. Day to day it can be tough, but you can learn resilience and come out on top! I feel privileged to have these two cheeky souls in my care. Love to you all. Liz S
