I run a social enterprise that specialises in helping students with learning difficulties or disabilities obtain paid employment, using a well-proven supported internship partnership / employment model with full-time trained job coaches.

Welcome to the online community. It sounds most interesting what you do - are you able to give us some information? I believe there is something out there, for everyone to do regardless of ability. It's all about having the right support and opportunities.

Hi Noah,
Having co-founded the highly successful and effective 'EmployAbility' Supported Internship Partnership schemes at National Grid (with Round Oak Specialist School where I am a governor), I purposefully left this great employer to increase the level of awareness, access and availability of best practice supported employment schemes throughout the country.
So far we've been achieving 10x the paid employment outcomes for students with learning difficulties or disabilities (LDD) e.g. from 6% national average to 70%+.
Like you, we are purposeful and passionate about changing the lives of 100's and 1,000's more students whilst creating value for organisations e.g. helping employers to recognise the considerable business benefits of employing this hitherto 'untapped' and often hidden group of more diverse, creative, inspiring and uniquely talented people. Inspiring individuals and their families/carers, specialist schools and colleges to raise their level of ambition and belief (confidence and capability) to transform the life outcomes of their particular students.
I joined the forum because I want to make a real and practical difference to the lives of students with LDD in terms of: paid employment outcomes; independent living; good health and social inclusion.
Best regards...Mark
