Ankle foot orthosis keeps breaking

I have been wearing carbon fiber AFO's for about 3 years. They make all the difference in the world for me to be able to golf and even play some doubles tennis, but they keep breaking where the leg strap connects to the foot plate. Both Toe off and Matrix break. I am not sure what I can do to make them hold up better.

Hi Dano,
I only have experience with children's orthotics services (so far!) with my son, but might it be worth talking to the orthotist who does your moulds and so on and ask for their thoughts about whether there's a way they can reinforce the area or make some minor change which means they are more suitable for your activities? It sounds like they provide the necessary support but can't quite keep up with you! Maybe if the straps had an elastic section there would be more give, if that's why it's breaking?
Good luck, and hopefully someone else will be along with some more useful advice soon!
Take care
