I write books and am stuck at home at the moment, as long term effects from cancer drugs have made me walk as if I am drunk - and I don't even drink!
This sounds very big headed- and please delete - but if anyone is a fellow dog-lover, during a hospital stint I wrote a book "About the Border Terrier", full of short stories, anecdotes etc. about these feisty little animals. I wanted it to be something people could dip into, and then leave, if they were going through treatment as well. But hopefully be positive and give a few smiles.
I also write about PAT dogs, Hearing dogs, etc. and wish we could get immediate attention when we go to our 'vet'!

Hi @Veriterc,
Welcome to the community! Your book sounds like a great idea - have you got a link?
Perhaps you'd be interested in doing a guest blog?0 -
Your books sound brilliant. Love dogs.0

Blush Blush! I was a bit hesitant but yes, would be delighted to do a guest blog. And the book is on Amazon (sorry, but all publishers use them now) and address is https://www.amazon.co.uk/About-Border-Terrier-Verite-Collins/dp/1852790229/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488994867&sr=8-1&keywords=About+the+Border+Terrier0

What a lovely idea for a book, having just over a year ago lost my assistance dog . I was at a total loss. But now I've a new little trainee lab cross called Detah . She as already gained the medical alert certificate and is well on her way to gaining the assistance dog component at barely a year of age0

You are lucky. Hope Detah stays a long time. I was lucky enough to see some of training for assistance dogs, and went out to Italy to do story on dogs there who jump out of helicopters to rescue drowning swimmers; part of Italian Coastguard. If you go to Rex features (photo agency) and search for Helicopter dogs, they have some photos.1
